Jules Sebastian

Hi Jules, thanks for taking the time to sit down and chat with us! Many people will likely know you from your TV presenting and public speaking (and having a husband with an incredible singing voice!) But some may not realise that you’re also a makeup artist.

Do you have any tips or ‘beauty hacks’ you could share with us?

Take care of your canvas! The older I’m getting the more I am appreciating that your skin tells the story of what is happening on the inside. I try to nourish my body with clean food, drinks lots of water and exercise so that the glow comes from the inside out. Skin is everything – treat it kindly!

What does your morning and night beauty routine involve?

Cleanse, tone, moisturise and eye cream everyday. Then, a few times a week I will do a scrub or a mask for extra cleansing and moisture.

What are your go-to makeup products?

I’m loving the Revlon Candid Foundation right now, it has good coverage and colours. Urban Decay Naked Eyeshadow Pallete is great for basic everyday eyeshadow. I love the Stila Smudge Stick in black. Go To Lips! is a must have in the handbag. Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Cheek blush is beautiful and soft and of course I can’t live without mascara…I’ve still not recovered from MAC Zoom being discontinued…so I’m searching for my perfect mascara right now!

If you had to choose just one type of beauty product, what would it be and why?

Hands down mascara. I have (as I like to call them) chubby eyelids (technical term is hooded eye!), and I have really long lashes so if I curl them up and layer the mascara, I feel like my eye looks bigger! Can’t live without it.

Can you tell us more about the Sebastian foundation that yourself and Guy created?

Yes! Guy and I have been running The Sebastian Foundation for the last five years. Because of the nimble nature of the foundation we have been able to help a lot of people in need. Our focus is on women and girls who are dealing with domestic violence. We work with quite a few shelters across NSW in the way of renovating their spaces so the girls have a beautiful place to stay, and workshops and mentoring programs to help women get out of their situations and back into the work place. It is very confronting and rewarding work. We love giving back to the community and helping others.

What’s your proudest moment to date?

So many! I am always proud of my children and watching them grow into fine young men. My husband constantly makes me proud with how he conducts himself through career and life. I’m most proud of myself for being able to be a very present mother but also keep my career kicking along. I feel like I’m in a great place right now where I have the best of both worlds!

Complete this sentence; my perfect day is…

Sleeping in…till at least 8! Having no schedule or requirements of me. Being with my family, but not having to cook or clean anything!!

Thanks for taking the time to talk to us, before we go, can you share what’s happening in your life right now or what you have in store for the future?

So much right now! I have just launched the newest season of Tea With Jules and have also just made it into podcast format. I am very excited to be working with great brands in collaborative and ambassador capacities. There is also a very big project on the horizon but I can’t tell you about it yet…watch this space!!

Thanks Jules
